Brooklyn Monster Ale ....

Today I am trying a Monster Ale, Barleywine Style, from Brooklyn Brewery.  The twelve ounce bottle shows 10.1% ABV.  The web site lists IBUs at 47.

Monster Ale poured with a small head that was beige, almost a tan.  Beer color is a bright, lighter copper.  The aroma has caramel, brown sugar, dark fruit, and a sharp note from the higher alcohol.  The taste starts off with lots of caramel and brown sugar, a little dark fruit, then some hop bitterness towards the end.  Boozy finish.  Warming.  This is an enjoyable beer, but probably not for someone who doesn't like a heavy, boozy brew.
