Avery Old Jubilation Ale ....

Tonight's beer is an Old Jubilation Ale from Avery Brewing Company.  It is a Limited Release in September.    8.3% ABV is listed on the twelve ounce bottle.  The web site shows 45 IBUs.

This beer poured with a small, beige colored head.  The beer color is mahogany.  There is some sediment in the glass.  The aroma is malt, spice, brown sugar.  Not getting much hops in the aroma.  In the taste there is toasted malt, caramel and spice.  Then some hops come in with bitterness, followed by some warmth from the higher alcohol.  The aftertaste leaves you with a little of the bitterness and toasted malt.  A smooth winter style beer with a nice hop bite.
