Ballast Point Sculpin IPA ....

Today I am trying a Sculpin India Pale Ale from Ballast Point Brewing Company.  The 1 pint, 6 ounce bottle shows 7% ABV.  Their web site lists 70 IBUs.

This IPA poured with a medium to thicker, cream colored head.  Beer color is a nice golden shade - more gold than yellow.  The aroma is a sweeter citrus; more orange or sweet grapefruit - not really the bitterness of grapefruit.  With the taste you get some malt, a little citrus/pine, then a slight bitterness builds under your tongue.  The finish is a little dry and slightly bitter.  A little bitter aftertaste.  More mild to medium bodied, but some nice flavor.
