New Belgium Belgo IPA ....

Today I am sampling a Belgo, Belgian Style India Pale Ale, from New Belgium Brewing Company.  The twelve ounce bottle lists 7% ABV.  The web site shows 60 IBUs.

This beer poured with a medium, bone colored head.  Beer color is a cloudy, medium yellow.  The aroma is more like a hefeweizen than an IPA.  Yeasty, with an underlying sweetness, maybe a little citrus.  The taste hits you with some citrus and a yeastiness at the same time.  Malty.  A little higher carbonation.  Nice hop bitterness towards the end.  Slight bitter aftertaste.  This is a nice mix of a hefeweizen and an IPA - the highlights of each are interwoven.
