This beer poured with a small to medium, beige colored head. The beer color is a dark blackish brown and no light shines through the glass when held up to the light. The aroma is somewhat sweet, with some citrus, fruit and a hint of higher alcohol. The first part of the sip is heavy and malty, more like a stout or porter, with some roasted notes. Later, some bitterness of citrus rind and pine comes in. Foamy, heavier mouth feel. The aftertaste leaves you with some bitter and roasted malt. I like beers that have a good amount of malt and hops - this one fits that description nicely. Thumbs up.
