Deschutes Jubelale ....

Tonight I will have a Jubelale from Deschutes Brewery.  It is a winter seasonal, available October through December.  The twelve ounce bottle shows 6.7% ABV.  The Deschutes web site lists IBUs at 60.

This beer poured with a medium, rich tan colored head.  Beer color is a darker brown, with a little reddish tint.  The aroma, although fairly mild, is malty, a little toasted, with caramel and a slight note of dark fruit.  The taste is roasted malt, caramel and spice.  I am really not getting any fruit in the taste.  There is an underlying bitterness that doesn't ever really come to the forefront.  Medium to full in strength.  The aftertaste leaves you with a little of the roasted malt and bitter.
