Harpoon Winter Warmer ....

Tonight's beer is a Winter Warmer from Harpoon Brewery.  It is a seasonal available November through January.  5.9% ABV is listed on the twelve ounce bottle.  The web site shows 23 IBUs.

This beer poured with a small, beige head.  Beer color is copper.  The aroma is nutmeg and cinnamon, with some fruit - I particularly seem to pick up ripe banana.  Taste is a sweet malt, then a lot of the spices kick in, and a light bitterness.  The aftertaste is spices and a little sour/bitter.  Overall, not complex, but just a malty, spiced ale.
