Summit India Pale Ale ....

Today I will sample an India Pale Ale from Summit Brewing Company.  Twelve ounce bottle.  The web site shows 6.4% ABV and 65 IBUs.

This IPA poured with a medium, creamy colored head.  The beer color is copper.  The aroma has some caramel, and some earthy hops, but very little citrus.  The taste is malty.  There is slight underlying bitterness, maybe a little pine.  Some herbs and spice.  Mild bitter aftertaste.  This is a nice beer but not what I really expect from an IPA.
