Breckenridge 471 Small Batch IPA ....

Saturday night and another IPA - can't get much better than that.  Tonight's is a 471 Small Batch IPA (double IPA) from Breckenridge Brewery, a limited edition.  The twelve ounce bottle shows 9.2% ABV.  The Breckenridge web site lists 70 IBUs.

This beer poured with a small, slightly creamy colored head.  Beer color is amber with a bit of an orange tint.  Aroma is primarily citrus, which seems more orange and tangerine.  The taste has malt, citrus, pine and kind of an herbal note that fades into a bitterness.  Fairly dry beer.  A little hint of the higher alcohol, but not much considering it's 9.2%.  The aftertaste leaves you with a bit of the bitterness.  At first I wasn't too sure about the herbal note and bitterness, but after a few sips it all seemed to come together.
