This beer poured with a thin, very dark brown head. Beer color is a blackish brown. No light shows through the glass when held up to the light. Although nothing comes across really strong, the aroma has some cocoa, roasted malt, brown sugar; also booziness from the higher alcohol. Maybe a little dark fruit. Medium to full bodied. There is cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, sweetness and higher alcohol in the taste. Leaves a little cocoa and sour/bitter note on the tongue. A heavy, warming, tasty beer.
