Green Flash Le Freak ....

December!  Only one month remaining in my year of beers.

It's Saturday night and time for a big beer - a 1 pint, 6 ounce bottle of Le Freak Ale from Green Flash Brewing Company.  The bottle shows 9.2% ABV.  The web site lists IBUs at 101.

Le Freak poured with a very thick, fluffy bone colored head.  Beer color is a very cloudy orange-ish yellow. The aroma is heavy on the yeast, with some hops and a little spice/pepper.  Maybe a little sweetness.  The description of this beer is Belgian Trippel meets American Imperial IPA.  I think that is a good description, with the Belgian style and yeast hitting you up front.  Then some of the sweeter, smoother hoppy notes come in towards the end.  Some spice.  The bitterness really isn't there until the aftertaste, when you get a hit of the piney bite.  A little warming, but otherwise it disguises the higher alcohol well.  Tasty.
