This beer poured with a small, rich brown head. Beer color is a very dark reddish brown/black. No light shows through when you hold the glass up to a light. The aroma has some cocoa, a dark fruit sweetness, oak and caramel. In the taste I am getting roasted malt, cocoa, coffee, dark fruit and a hint of the higher alcohol. There is underlying bitterness through most of the sip. Heavy and creamy. The aftertaste leaves you with a little roasted malt and a slight bitterness. This has a lot going on, and is tasty.
