Avalanche poured with a medium, slightly brown (not quite tan) head. The beer color is a brownish amber. The aroma has some sweetness of caramel and a little hops. Mild bodied. The taste has some malt, some caramel and is a little grassy. A very slight bitterness at the end of the sip. I am not a big fan of a lot of Amber Ales because they are a little light on taste, and this one falls into that category for me. Not a bad beer, but a little "thin".
