The Black Butte poured with a brown, medium head. It is a dark reddish-brown that very little light penetrates. I get a slight hint of coffee in the aroma, and a little sweetness that seems like honey. The flavor has some nice hops, with a little bitterness. I would say it is on the strong side of medium. A heavier mouth feel, with a malty finish. Very little aftertaste.
